Shadia Musa
Outreach and Education Manager
Shadia Musa serves as the Outreach and Education Manager at GHHI, where she leads outreach efforts to ensure effective community engagement, robust client enrollment, and culturally responsive education initiatives across all Maryland programs.
As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Shadia was a member of the Sherman STEM Teachers Scholars Program, engaging in culturally responsive educational practices with a focus on community engagement. During her undergraduate studies, Shadia worked in various capacities in Baltimore City Schools and beyond as an informal STEM educator. After switching her major from Physics to American Studies, Shadia used her STEM knowledge to conduct research on the benefits of community-based STEM education in Baltimore City Public Schools.
Shadia began her professional career working in Baltimore City Public Schools as a Literacy Tutor. She then served as a Family Services Coordinator and Community School Coordinator, where she led successful outreach efforts, conducted robust resource allocation, and ensured meaningful school-based partnerships.
Shadia also serves as a community organizer in Baltimore City, hosting an annual community meeting space for black and brown LGBTQIA+ individuals, as well as assisting with mutual aid efforts across the city. Shadia is deeply passionate about creating equitable systems for children, families, and seniors in Maryland, especially through effective, culturally responsive outreach and education.
In her free time, Shadia loves modern art, architecture, hiking/camping, and roller skating.
