Imani Oakes
Program Administration Coordinator, Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program
Imani Oakes is the Program Administration Coordinator for GHHI’s Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program. In her role, she works with a team dedicated to providing environmental justice grants to historically disinvested communities in EPA’s Region 3.
Imani is passionate about serving those in communities that are disadvantaged, underserved, and underprivileged. Prior to joining GHHI, she worked in event planning at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
Imani has a B.A. in Family/ Mass Media Communications and Public Health from the University of California, Davis. Originally from California, in her free time, Imani enjoys spending time venturing throughout and getting to know Maryland and Washington, D.C., the region she now calls home.
