Celisia Rouson-Smith
Director, Family Advocacy Services
Celisia Rouson-Smith is the Manager of Environmental Health Education & Community Engagement at GHHI where she manages GHHI’s client environmental health education, national and local trainings and its Asthma Program. Ms. Rouson-Smith works directly in the home with families to identify health hazardous conditions and provide resident education on improving the health and safety within the home while coordinating higher level housing interventions with GHHI’s Housing Intervention Services team. Celisia graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine and soon became a nationally and state board certified athletic trainer. After working in the sports medicine field for a few years, Celisia obtained her Masters of Public Health degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in 2017. Celisia has been heavily involved in volunteering and mentoring services since being an undergraduate student through the THREAD mentoring program, Our Daily Bread meal service, juvenile prisoner pen-pal services, and more. She has a passion for healthcare access and equality, community development, and improving the health of our population overall.
Celisia loves traveling, trying new restaurants, discovering new music, the NY Giants, and Lebron James.
