GHHI President and CEO Named to Moore-Miller Transition Team
Exciting news from GHHI!
The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative’s (GHHI’s) President and CEO, Ruth Ann Norton, has been invited by Governor-Elect Wes Moore and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Aruna Miller to join their transition team as co-chair of the Housing Executive Policy Committee. Ruth Ann will serve alongside Miranda Darden-Willems, the Executive Director for the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition, to help guide housing policy decisions in the coming months.
From Ruth Ann:
Gov.-Elect Moore has long been an advocate for safe, healthy, and affordable homes for all Maryland residents. Housing quality is a matter of health, racial, educational, and economic equity, all issues the new administration has committed to addressing during its tenure. I am honored to co-chair this committee with Miranda and to work in collaboration with the Gov.-Elect’s team to advance intersectional housing policies that help Marylanders thrive.
GHHI is dedicated to addressing the social determinants of health and the advancement of racial and health equity through the creation of healthy, safe and energy efficient homes. By delivering a standard of excellence in its work, GHHI aims to eradicate the negative health impacts of unhealthy housing and unjust policies for children, seniors and families to ensure better health, economic and social outcomes in historically disinvested communities – with an emphasis on communities of color.
