Green & Healthy Homes Initiative Announces Request for Proposals for the National Initiative for Asthma Reimbursement

GHHI is conducting a nationwide, open competition for organizations interested in achieving reimbursement for comprehensive asthma care management programs. GHHI will provide pro bono technical assistance to two sites for Business Development and five sites for Reimbursement Support in 2019. The Business Development TA will focus on building or scaling a strong, comprehensive asthma program and assessing the cost-benefit analysis of providing that program. The Reimbursement Support TA will focus on understanding the relevant state and federal policy landscape, selecting an appropriate reimbursement mechanism, and securing payers. EPA Grant Background

The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) has received funding for the second fiscal year of a three-year grant award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the result of a highly competitive open grant competition focused on reducing public exposure to indoor pollutants. The second year of an anticipated three-year project will allow for two simultaneous technical assistance activities – business development and reimbursement support, which will allow GHHI to provide support to 1) develop and implement asthma home visiting programs providing comprehensive environmental health services, 2) and increase Medicaid funding for these interventions.
