GHHI & BPI Introduce the Healthy Home Evaluator Credential

This spring the Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) and Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) will introduce the Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) credential to the nation’s home performance, weatherization and healthy housing workforce, with the goal of breaking the link between unhealthy housing and unhealthy families through home performance interventions.

‘Your Green & Healthy Home’ App Debuts during Lead Poisoning Prevention Week to Reduce Home Hazards and Keep Families Healthier

The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) today announced the release of an important new tool for families, Your Green & Healthy Home app, which will help make homes healthier and safer. The announcement came at a Baltimore event kicking off National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week hosted by GHHI and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Green & Healthy Homes Initiative Selects Service Providers to Participate in Asthma-Related Pay for Success Projects

Today, the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI), a grantee of the Social Innovation Fund’s (SIF) Pay for Success program, and its collaboration partner Calvert Foundation, selected five service providers to participate in regional Pay for Success (PFS) projects. These awardees, selected by GHHI through a national competition, will work in collaboration with local health care organizations to conduct feasibility studies of PFS models that fund home-based asthma interventions, including remediation of asthma triggers and resident education.

Rhode Island Foundation Recognizes the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative with Best Practice Award for Collaboration

Last night, the Rhode Island Foundation’s Initiative for Nonprofit Excellence honored the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative Rhode Island (GHHI Rhode Island) for its leadership role in establishing the Rhode Island Alliance for Healthy Homes (the Alliance). GHHI Rhode Island has been successful in bringing together a broad partnership of housing, health and energy providers from across the state to produce an integrated housing assessment and intervention delivery model that better serves low income families.
