Baltimore, MD May 9, 2017—The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI), following a national competition, has awarded grants and support to the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (Buffalo, NY), Health Net of West Michigan (Grand Rapids, MI), Le Bonheur Community Health and Well-Being (Memphis, TN), and Partners for a Healthier Community (Springfield, MA) to advance their Pay for Success (PFS) projects.

The President’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2018 includes cuts to programs within HUD, CDC, and EPA that are vital to the effort to eliminate childhood lead poisoning. These programs provide funding for lead hazard control and repair, surveillance and follow up services, and lead-safe renovation training and practices.

Yesterday, GHHI along with our partners at National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH), Healthy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF), and Lead and Environmental Hazards Association (LEHA) released a letter written to EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt concerning proposed cuts to lead funding in the administration’s upcoming budget proposal.

Baltimore, MD – Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI), along with partners University of Utah Health Plans and Salt Lake County Office of Regional Development, is a proud recipient of a sub-grant from Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) totaling $200,264. The funding stems from the federal Social Innovation Fund, a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service that seeks to mobilize private resources to find and grow evidence-based social programs.
